"Metamorphosis: A visual art proposal for the education and visibility of emotional abuse"
This creative research and production project focuses on raising awareness about emotional abuse through an art exhibition as an educational tool. Its purpose is to serve the Puerto Rican population as a method of prevention against violence or emotional abuse in interpersonal relationships, especially within couples. This project is based on the creation of artworks inspired by the experiences of both men and women who have suffered emotional violence. What distinguishes this project is that, rather than depicting how or what violence is, it aims to represent what it feels like to experience emotional abuse every day. The idea is to delve into the psyche, mind, and daily life of a survivor of violence and the physical consequences it causes in relationships. In short, it is a design project with the purpose of educating, raising awareness, and preventing violence.

"The purpose of this exhibition was to educate women and the Puerto Rican population about the effects of emotional abuse. As an artist, and through conversations with friends, I realized how normalized this type of violence is in interpersonal relationships. Therefore, I took on the task of making visible—through art—how this type of abuse is felt and experienced from within."
