Interdisciplinary artist

Fabiola E. Báez Flores is a Puerto Rican visual artist, cultural manager, and interdisciplinary researcher whose practice bridges fine arts with medical humanities, ecology, and science.

She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a minor in Medical Humanities from the University of Puerto Rico and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Cultural Management and Administration at the same institution. Her work explores the intersections of the body, memory, territory, and healing, positioning art as a catalyst for social and ecological transformation.

Báez Flores has led and contributed to numerous high-impact projects, including Metamorfosis, an educational art exhibition addressing emotional abuse; DNA 205, a visual study on hereditary breast cancer; and an environmental research project on ecological monitoring in the Ciénaga Las Cucharillas Nature Reserve, which she presented at the SER 2024 International Conference in Vancouver, Canada.

Her artwork has been featured in both solo and group exhibitions at prominent venues such as the Puerto Rico Capitol—where she was the youngest participating artist—the Ponce Biennial, university fairs, and independent galleries.

Since 2019, she has been a resident muralist with the collective Puerto Rico Grita and an active collaborator with organizations including Urbe a Pie and Corredor del Yaguazo. Dedicated to arts-based education, Báez Flores designs and facilitates workshops, residencies, and creative initiatives that empower vulnerable communities through artistic engagement.
