"DNA 205"

This work of art, production, and creative research focuses on the prevention of genetic breast cancer through an art exhibition as an educational tool. Breast cancer is a genetic disease in which cells develop uncontrollably. Therefore, having a family history of it represents a higher risk of developing the disease. The exhibition presents the processes, experiences, and testimonies of the project's relatives who have suffered both from the disease and the medical treatment process. The media used included paintings, drawings, and installations, with various images, such as DNA 1, healthy cells, and cancer cells, with the purpose of documenting the diagnosis and treatment process of the disease. These documents were used to produce an installation that brings the public closer to the lived reality of the patients. The primary purpose of the exhibition is to raise awareness of the importance of visiting your doctor for routine checkups and early detection of the onset of the disease, as well as preventing its development by reducing risk factors.
